SAP S/4HANA Transformation Director – Retail & FMCG – Hybrid – North Holland

A major international leader in the retail and consumer goods sector is seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Transformation Lead. In this strategic key role, you will take ownership of steering complex ERP transformation initiatives across multiple countries and domains. Beyond purely technical delivery, your primary focus will be driving measurable business value, managing legacy system transformations, and leading cross-functional teams. You will act as the crucial link between business leadership and technology stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration between S/4HANA, MuleSoft, infrastructure, and broader enterprise architectures.
Key Responsibilities

Leading and driving complex, multi-country SAP S/4HANA implementation and transformation programs
Steering the transformation and migration strategy from legacy systems to modern cloud/ERP architectures
Managing large transformation budgets and leading cross-functional, international teams
Serving as a strategic business partner, effectively bridging business objectives and complex IT delivery
Overseeing broad technical landscapes and integration frameworks, including S/4HANA, MuleSoft integrations, and infrastructure
Driving stakeholder management at executive levels to align business processes with IT transformation goals
Ensuring the delivery of measurable business value and operational efficiency throughout the transformation lifecycle

Profile & Requirements
You are a strategic, business-oriented leader with strong stakeholder influence and business partnering skills. Rather than being purely focused on technical SAP execution, you possess the capability to lead organizational change, influence senior management, and translate technology capabilities into real business outcomes.
Mandatory Criteria

Proven track record in large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementations
Strong understanding of legacy system transformations and multi-country delivery
Broad technical oversight across multiple domains, including S/4HANA, MuleSoft integrations, and underlying IT infrastructure
Extensive background in business partnering and stakeholder management, with the ability to bridge business and technology
Domain experience within Retail or FMCG environments
Professional-level English (oral and written)

Preferred Qualifications

15+ years of hands-on and leadership experience within SAP environments
Proven experience managing large transformation budgets and international teams
Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable business value from ERP initiatives
A combined background in management/SAP consulting and industry leadership is highly preferred

Work Environment
You will operate within an enterprise-scale, fast-paced retail environment undergoing significant technological modernization. The organization fosters a collaborative, result-driven culture where strategic IT initiatives directly impact international business operations. This position offers a hybrid setup, combining 2 to 3 days per week at the office location in Zaandam with remote work options.
