Senior Backend Developer (PHP) – South Holland, Netherlands
Job Description
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will work on a high-availability fintech platform that processes millions of secure transactions every day. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable backend solutions and microservices that power the next generation of e-commerce.
You will contribute to new payment flows, onboarding and compliance solutions, API development, and the continuous scaling of business-critical systems. Working within an experienced Scrum team, you will play a key role in architecture, performance, reliability, and security while contributing both strategically and hands-on.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Backend Developer;
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level (or equivalent working/thinking level);
• Strong expertise in PHP and MySQL;
• Experience with Laravel or Symfony, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and microservices;
• Experience building and maintaining high-traffic, scalable platforms;
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders;
• Currently based in the Netherlands.
